Post 6 - What's your favourite TV show / film?

On this post I am going to talk about one of my favorite tv shows, which started being absolutely perfect and ended with a horrible last season which lead me to a deep depression: Game of Thrones.

Game of thrones is an English fantasy show based on the heroic novel written by George R.R Martin “A Song of Ice and Fire”. It is situated in a fictional world known as Westeros, there is a throne made with a thousand swords where only the king of the seven kingdoms can sit. Starting from here and after an historical moment known as “Robert’s Rebellion” (head of the House Baratheon) when the throne is taken from the Targaryen family (The house of the dragons) by killing every single one of them except for the two youngest children of King Aerys II (the mad king). The show starts 15 years after those events, where different individuals from the most important noble houses fight to conquer the throne.

Personally I liked the show because of the way the characters are present, not dividing them between good and bad, which makes them feel very real, because no one is 100% good and only looking for love not caring for anyone else. The female characters are incredible and amazing because they get to become independent o men, stealing the protagonism and proving that they are by far smarter.

The show has 8 seasons and my favorite episode is from the sixth called “The battle off the bastards”, here the noble house Stark seeks to take back their home from those who betray them. The battle have that name because the commanders of both sides where the bastard sons of important lords. This episode have everything: action, tears, drama and a very unexpected ending by the hands of a great woman: Sansa Stark (my favorite character) who comes to the rescue of his brother and take the northern lands back with her own army.

My favorite scene is from the very last episode of the show, where Sansa becomes the queen of the northern land and when she is crown every noble shout “The Queen in the north! The Queen in the north! The Queen in the north!”
